I was invited on a dais to give a talk on the relevance of history to our contemporary life, which was like an arithmetic exercise to a dull school student. I was a bit puzzled as I do not remember the great souls' contribution in a lucid manner like a history teacher. Neil biting...... I started from father of India Mahatma Gandhi to my own father who influenced my own thought and action.Even a negative story from past has a positive impact in the present if we are always positive and sincere to our own action for better societal development. I remember people advise "tell the truth" hundred times since the child is born but can the people speak truth always. I never find a single person who is not telling at least one lie now a days. Still we should have hope that if a lie can bring some good results for others, it can be accepted. But I am not recommending to tell lie. The history taught us what is right and what is wrong. The history remind us what is the ultimate consequence of our particular action. History is not a dead letter. It is a mirror to see our past and to bring corrective measures to our every action.

Ohhhhhh.... I am so sorry. Just now got a message that the Lion of Maharastra, Balasaheb Thakarey expire. Shocked to hear. Another great soul added to our history. I had an opportunity to hear his speech in Mumbai three years back. A true patriot, a legendary person, my condolences to his family and friends.
